The Office Job I Couldn't Imagine
As I got nearer to adulthood I started to panic about the idea of going into an office for eight hours a day, five days a week. Even at that young age I knew I couldn't manage it.
I vividly remember glancing at the clock one morning. It was 8:45. I told myself to pay attention to when it got to 5:00 because that would be a full work day. My mind was blown all day. 10am. Noon. 2pm. I kept thinking about everything I had done that day, everywhere I'd gone. It was inconceivable that I'd have an office job.
This was the late 1990s. We didn't have side hustles or Uber driving. We had go to this building, sit there for 40 hours a week, cash your paycheck every two weeks.
THE WORKAROUND
Eleven Years Selling Rocks
My first job was case management for adults with severe mental illness. Case managers get to spend their days out in the community. That solved my problem. I didn't mind working eight hours. I minded being stuck in a building that long.
Eventually I finished a Master's in Psychology in 2007 and started my own social services agency for developmentally disabled adults. At its peak I had about 40 employees and 25 to 30 clients. Know what I didn't have? An office. People found that strange. I found it strange that anyone would pay rent on a place they never wanted to go to.
In 2011 I sold the agency to an employee and moved back to Minnesota. In 2015 I started Crystal Magnetics. Eleven years later I'm a walking, talking rock-o-pedia.
WHY I BUILT THIS
The Mistakes I Made So You Don't Have To
A few months back I was scrolling through late 2015 Facebook group posts and saw that I was already talking about helping people start their own crystal businesses back then. I cringed. I still had so much to learn. But I also saw how easy it was. I was making a living, at home, working about four hours a day selling rocks on the internet. I was jazzed.For the next eleven years I focused mostly on selling. I held a handful of workshops. I mentored a few people through their first year. But it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I felt really driven to take everything I'd learned and turn it into something a person could actually use.It wasn't just that I wanted to help people start their own businesses. It was that I could stare at the vast expanse of mistakes I'd made and know how much it would help someone if I could detour them around the first handful of obstacles.Save them the years and the money.

Why no refund policy?
I hate it too. When you buy a crystal from me and don't love it, I bend over backwards to refund you. But once you have this information, you have it. There's no way to return knowledge. My advice: don't make this an impulse buy. It'll be here tomorrow. Sit with it. And email me before you buy if you have questions.
